Congresswoman Beatty Recognizes Significance of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month
Every March, our nation observes Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, a month-long awareness campaign that highlights the needs of Americans with developmental disabilities. To mark Developmental Disabilities Month, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) said:
"At a time when nearly one in six American children will be diagnosed with a developmental disability during their lifetime, it is important to remember that living with a disability does not mean inability. That is why this Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month and all year long, I encourage my constituents to raise awareness about developmental disabilities and promote inclusion. Every American regardless of ability possesses unique talents that make our country great, so let's look beyond an individual's disability and see them as a person first."
