Congresswoman Beatty Recognizes National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, a month-long initiative dedicated to raising awareness about the need for greater research and funding for childhood cancer. As a strong supporter of childhood cancer research, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:
"According to the World Health Organization, every two minutes a child in the United States is diagnosed with cancer, and in Ohio, every day two children are diagnosed with cancer. Unfortunately, federal funding for childhood cancer research has remained flat for more than a decade. That is why, I am working tirelessly in Congress and with partners like National Children's Hospital, to ensure we support groundbreaking research to treat, improve and ultimately find a cure for cancer."
