Congresswoman Beatty Observes Women’s Equality Day

Yesterday, our country celebrated the 98th anniversary of the adoption of the 19th Amendment, guaranteeing women—for the very first time—the right to vote. To commemorate Women’s Equality Day, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:

“As we celebrate the 98th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, let’s not lose sight of the fact that while we’ve made progress in the fight for full equality, our work continues. Women still earn only 82 cents for every dollar a man makes--even less for women of color--and still too many Americans are finding it harder, not easier, to vote. That is why, I will continue to fight hard in Congress to ensure all hardworking women, men, and families can achieve their American Dream and able to be full participants in our democracy.”
