Congresswoman Beatty Observes Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month

June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, a month-long initiative dedicated to increasing awareness and advocacy to further research into Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. To mark the month-long observance, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03 stated:

"There are more than five million Americans living with Alzheimer’s disease. By 2050 that number is expected to nearly triple. With so many families affected by Alzheimer’s disease, I believe Congress has a responsibility to improve treatment options and ultimately find a cure. That is why, I support increasing investment for Alzheimer’s research at the National Institute Health in the upcoming fiscal year to $2.23 billion. This bold investment would represent an important step toward achieving the goal of the National Plan to Address Alzheimer’s disease to find a cure by 2025, and I urge my colleagues in the House of Representatives, Ohioans and all Americans to join me in this effort.”
