Congresswoman Beatty Marks National Mental Health Awareness Month

May marks National Mental Health Awareness Month, a nationwide initiative to raise awareness and to help fight the stigma around mental health conditions. In response, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:

"This year, 44 million Americans will experience a mental health condition, and one in five Americans will experience a mental health condition in their lifetime. Unfortunately, many feel marginalized and do not seek assistance. That is why, it is up to all of us to be the voice for the voiceless and support those who need it most. In that spirit, this month and all year long, I urge my constituents and all Americans to speak out, raise awareness and fight to end the stigma around mental health."
