Congresswoman Beatty Emphasizes Importance of National Minority Health Month

Announcements

April is National Minority Health Month. Adding her voice to those raising awareness on the ongoing need to eliminate health disparities that continue to disparately impact African-Americans and other racial and ethnic minorities, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:

"It is troubling that minorities and people of color face drastically higher rates of disease and lower access to healthcare. Congress must do everything in its power to better understand and reduce the health disparities that exist for African-Americans and other minority groups. Just this month, I was proud to join Congresswomen Alma Adams and Lauren Underwood in founding the Black Maternal Health Caucus. Focused on decreasing the racial gap in maternal mortality and healthcare, the Caucus is a big step toward healthcare parity. We cannot rest until each and every American has equal access and opportunity to high-quality, affordable healthcare."
