Congresswoman Beatty Celebrates National Park Week

April 15-23 is National Park Week, an annual tradition to celebrate our nation’s public lands. Established by President Woodrow Wilson in 1916 to protect our nation’s federal lands, the National Park Service (NPS) maintains more than 50 national parks and serves more than 307 million visitors annually. To mark the occasion, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:

“Our national parks and federal lands are natural treasures that have served as a source of beauty and recreation for families, as well as habitat for wildlife for over a century.” Beatty said. “NPS parks also support thousands of jobs and inject billions of dollars into our economy.” Beatty continued, “For these reasons, I am proud to celebrate the National Park Week and remain committed to protecting our precious federal lands for all Americans.”

Be sure to join in the conversation online during National Park Week by using #FindYour Park. For more information and to find your nearest National Park, please visit NPS’s website. Please note: all national parks will waive entrance fees on April 15-16 and 22-23.
