Congresswoman Beatty Celebrates National Library Week
April 7th through 15th is National Library Week, a chance to celebrate our nation’s libraries and the transformative effect they have on all Americans. In commemoration, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) released the following statement:
“The local library means so much to so many. They serve as community centers, provide complementary access to media and technology resources, host thought-provoking programs and events, and strengthen neighborhoods. In that spirit, this National Library Week and all year long, I urge my constituents, fellow Ohioans and all Americans to join me in celebrating the tremendous impact our country’s nearly 120,000 libraries have on Americans of all ages.”
First celebrated in 1958, NLW is spearheaded by the American Library Association, in coordination with libraries across the country. You too can join the celebration by visiting the American Library Association’s website and/or by using #NationalLibraryWeek on social media.
