Congresswoman Beatty Celebrates National HBCU Week

This week, September 8-September 10, 2019, is National Historically Black College and University (HBCU) Week. For more than a century, HBCUs have provided an affordable, high-quality education to countless students of color. In recognition of National HBCU Week, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:

"As a proud HBCU graduate of Central State University, I know first-hand the impact Historically Black Colleges and Universities have on students, communities, and our nation as a whole. Attending an HBCU gives students the unparalleled opportunity to learn and grow in an environment where they are valued, understood, and celebrated. With over 100 schools across 20 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, HBCUs continue to provide a path towards education and success for Black America."

During National HBCU Week, be sure to join the conversation online by using: #HBCUWeek, #HBCUPride, and #ILoveMyHBCU.
