Today, marks the Legal Services Corporation's (LSC) 45 years of providing legal aid to those who may not otherwise be able to afford it. A strong LSC supporter, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:

"As a longtime ally, I have seen firsthand the amazing work and services LSC provides to those who need it most. From families facing unlawful evictions or foreclosures, to women seeking protection from abuse, LSC's commitment to equal justice under the law is unparalleled. That is why I am proud to join them today and every day in the fight to ensure access to free, high-quality legal services and equal rights for countless vulnerable Americans."

In Congress, Beatty is the author of the Homeless Veterans Legal Services Act, H.R. 716, legislation to provide homeless and at-risk of homelessness veterans access to LSC legal services.
