Congresswoman Beatty Celebrates Earned Income Tax Credit Awareness Day
January 29, 2021 is Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Awareness Day, a national initiative to raise awareness on the benefits of the EITC and to ensure individuals who qualify for the EITC claim the valuable tax credit. Highlighting EITC’s life-changing impact, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) said:
“The EITC is one of the most powerful and most successful anti-poverty federal government initiatives. In the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic, as countless hardworking families in Central Ohio and beyond are struggling to make ends meet, the importance of the EITC cannot be overstated. However, 1 in 5 Americans fail to claim this invaluable tax credit, unaware that they qualify. So, this EITC Awareness Day—and throughout tax season—I want to make sure that every eligible American family claims the EITC because they literally worked hard all year to earn it.”
