Congresswoman Beatty Celebrates 54th Anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid

U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement in recognition of the 54th anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid:

"For more than five decades, Medicare and Medicaid have been protecting the health and well-being of millions of Americans. Though Medicare and Medicaid initially provided much needed access to healthcare, they have changed over the years to provide even more Americans with access to high-quality, affordable healthcare. That is why in Congress I am working hard to protect the benefits that seniors worked hard to earn and remain committed to strengthening and expanding Medicare and Medicaid. Fifty-four years later, Medicare and Medicaid continue to save lives and provide the peace of mind that comes with access to healthcare and treatment.

So, as we look to the future, I will continue to fight for a comprehensive system that guarantees all Americans can obtain affordable and high-quality healthcare."
