Beatty Statement on National Women’s Health Week

Weeklong initiative emphasizes the importance of making women’s health a priority.

Each year, beginning on Mother’s Day, our country observes National Women’s Health Week (NWHW). This year, NWHW runs from May 8th through May 14th. In response, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:

“Women must make their physical and mental health a priority,” Beatty said. “That is why I join with many like-minded individuals and organizations in recognizing National Women’s Health Week, and urging all women to take time this week, and all year long, to better understand what steps they can take to improve their health and health outcomes.”

For 17 years, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office on Women’s Health has led NWHW. During NWHW 2016, the Office on Women’s Health encourages women to take the “Your Health at Every Age” pledge to join forces with women of all ages across the county who are challenging themselves to be healthier.
