Beatty Statement on National Recovery Month

September is National Recovery Month, a monthly initiative to raise awareness and understanding of substance abuse, addiction and mental illness. This year's theme is "Join the Voices for Recovery: Invest in Health, Home, Purpose, and Community." In recognition, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) said:

"Millions of Americans struggle with addiction and mental illness. However, there is hope, help and resources are available, and recovery is possible. With this in mind, let us celebrate our family and friends who have transformed their lives through recovery, salute the community and healthcare professionals who aid in the journey, and recognize the federal government has a major role in the fight against addiction, including the Opioid Epidemic that is ravaging communities in Central Ohio and across the nation."
