Beatty Statement on National Recovery Month

September is National Recovery Month (NRM), a monthlong campaign to increase awareness and understanding around substance abuse, addiction and mental illness. In recognition of NRM, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:

“Millions of Americans struggle with addiction and mental illness, ” Beatty said. “Nevertheless, powerful, personal stories remind us all that recovery is possible, and there are many resources available to individuals seeking help.” Beatty continued, “In that spirit, I urge Democrats and Republicans to come together to adequately fund the fight against addiction—especially the tragic opioid epidemic that is affecting far too many communities across our nation, including Central Ohio.”

During NRM, please visit Congresswoman Beatty’s Facebook and Twitter for useful information, facts, and resources. Be sure to join the conversation online, or share your own story, by using: #RecoveryMonth.
