Beatty Statement on National Nurses Week

Weeklong initiative recognizes the important role nurses play in our nation

Today is the final day of National Nurses Week. To mark this occasion, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:

“During National Nurses Week, our nation pauses to reflect on the tremendous role that nurses have in our communities. This week, and every week, let us honor the dedicated caregivers who selflessly provide quality care to their patients,” Beatty said. “I invite my constituents to join me in promoting a safer work environment for nurses and patients alike, and to ensure that our nation’s nurses are equipped and prepared to be at their best at all times.” Beatty continued, “Identifying and maintaining the appropriate number of professional nursing staff is critical to that end and to quality patient care. That is why I am a cosponsor of the Nurse Staffing Standards for Patient Safety and Quality Care Act of 2015, H.R. 1602, to support solutions to comfort both nurses and patients.”
