Beatty Statement on Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month

To mark Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month, an initiative to help increase awareness and advocacy for more research into Alzheimer's disease and dementia, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:

"There are more than five million Americans living with Alzheimer's disease and dementia. It could be a friend, loved one, coworker, acquaintance, or maybe it is you. With so many families affected by Alzheimer's disease, I believe the federal government has a responsibility to help spur groundbreaking research, improve treatment options and ultimately discover a cure. That is why I support investing $1.8 billion into Alzheimer's research at the National Institutes of Health in the upcoming fiscal year. This bold investment would represent an important step toward achieving the goal of the National Plan to Address Alzheimer's disease to find a cure by 2025, and I urge my colleagues in the House of Representatives, Ohioans and all Americans to join me in this effort."

This month, be sure join the conversation online by using: #EndAlzheimers, #EndALZ, and #GoPurple.
