Beatty Recognizes National Men’s Health Week
This week (June 15-21) is National Men’s Health Week, an annual opportunity to encourage men to make their health a priority and to raise awareness about the diseases and illnesses particularly affecting America’s men. To mark the occasion, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:
“All too often, men avoid regular doctor visits, scheduling nearly half as many appointments as women—this reality is especially troubling as our nation is in the grips of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Worse still, men are much more likely to engage in unhealthy behaviors like smoking and excessive drinking. As a result, I strongly encourage men of all ages and backgrounds to schedule regular checkups with their primary care physician and to seek treatment and care when they are ill or injured. One visit to the doctor can save and change your life.”
