Beatty Marks National Small Business Week

Weeklong initiative highlights the importance of American small businesses

This year, National Small Business Week (NSBW) is April 29th through May 5th. First celebrated in 1964, NSBW is an annual celebration to recognize the critical contributions of American entrepreneurs and small business owners. U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement in recognition of NSBW:

"Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, accounting for more than half of our workforce and almost two out of every three new jobs created in United States. Put simply, small businesses make our country and economy great. As a former small business owner, I have seen the tremendous impact small businesses have on their employees, customers and the community as whole. That is why I will continue to do everything in my power to help America's small businesses thrive; and I encourage all Americans to join me in celebrating the nearly 28 million small businesses and 120 million Americans who make Main Street strong."

All week long, Congresswoman Beatty will be recognizing NSBW, so please be sure to visit the Congresswoman's Facebook and Twitter to see, hear and learn the latest. Also, do not forget to join the conversation online by using #SmallBuisnessWeek, #NSBW and #DreamSmallBiz.
