Beatty Highlights Need for Greater Alzheimer's Awareness
Each November, our country marks National Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month. All month long, Americans are invited to "Go Purple" in an effort to help raise awareness around Alzheimer's Disease. In recognition, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:
"Right now, more than five million Americans are living with Alzheimer's Disease, including one in nine American over 65 years of age. That means each of us likely knows someone impacted by this devastating disease. That is why this November, and all year long, we need to recommit ourselves to working together to raise greater awareness and doing more to support individuals and their support network of family and friends—who often also serve as caregivers—impacted by Alzheimer's Disease. Take an important first right now by simply pledging to ‘Go Purple.'"
