Congresswoman Beatty Announces 2019 Congressional Art Competition Winners
COLUMBUS, OH – Yesterday, on May 6, 2019, at a community event co-hosted by U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03), U.S. Congressman Steve Stivers (OH-15), and U.S. Congressman Troy Balderson (OH-12), the winners from Ohio’s Third, Twelfth, and Fifteenth Congressional Districts were announced before a packed crowd at the Columbus Museum of Art.
“I look forward to seeing the winning piece from Ohio’s Third Congressional District hang alongside works of art from every state in the United States Capitol,” Beatty said. “Congratulations to all of this year’s winners, as well as the many talented high school students who submitted their works of art. I also want to extend a very special thank you to the teachers, parents, judges, and other community entities that made the 2019 Congressional Art competition an unbelievable success.”
The 2019 Congressional Art Competition winners from Ohio’s Third Congressional District are:
- 1st Place: Fatima Fnu, Centennial High School, “Linked In Time”
- 2nd Place: Oluwaleke Obayemi, Franklin Heights High School, “Curiosity”
- 3rd Place: Jasmine Banos, Franklin Heights High School, “Elle McBroom”
- Viewers’ Choice Awards (based on Facebook likes): Aly Werstler, Columbus School for Girls, “Sydney Operate House at Spring;” and Keegan McCoy, Franklin Heights High School, “Born Proud”
