Press Release

COLUMBUS, OH—The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) recently announced that the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) received a $600,000 federal grant to develop, deploy, and demonstrate innovative solutions that improve the operational efficiency as well as enhance the mobility of transit users affected by the COVID-19 public health emergency. Funding was made available through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, P.L. 116-136, a major piece of legislation supported by U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03). Responding to the announcement, Beatty said:

“As the Representative of Ohio’s Third Congressional District, I am fighting hard to secure the much-needed federal resources to ensure that hardworking Ohioans, families, and small businesses come first during this public health crisis. To that effect, I have supported each and every COVID-19 response bill, and am eager to begin working with the incoming Biden-Harris Administration to continue moving our people, our economy, and our country forward.”
