Beatty Announces More Federal Funds from American Rescue Plan for Ohio’s Third Congressional District
COLUMBUS, OH—The White House recently unveiled guidance on the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds, established by Congressional Democrats’ American Rescue Plan, P.L. 117-02, which allocates $350 billion in emergency funding for state, local, territorial and tribal governments to manage the financial fallout caused by COVID-19. Included in the American Rescue Plan is over $442 million in federal relief for Ohio’s Third Congressional District.
“Congressional Democrats and the Biden-Harris Administration are committed to protecting the lives and livelihoods of American workers, families, and small businesses,” U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) said. “That is why we worked hard to secure desperately-needed assistance for state, county, and local governments—in addition to direct relief for all of our constituents.” She added, “These funds will save jobs, prevent layoffs, and keep services operational in Ohio’s Third Congressional District and across the country, not to mention help our economy recover from crisis and build back better.”
Specifically, the American Rescue Plan provides:
- $255,764,417 to Franklin County
- $187,030,138 to the City of Columbus
To date, more than $674 million in direct COVID-19 relief has been awarded to government entities in Ohio’s Third Congressional District.
