An Ohio sausage beats an Alabama sausage anytime, right Gov. Mike DeWine?

However, the governor still hopes to be munching on the inferior sausage after Ohio State University wins another national collegiate football championship tonight.

Ahead of the game between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the University of Alabama Crimson Tide, DeWine is engaged in a friendly wager with Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine is wagering cream puffs and sausages from Schmidt's Sausage Haus in a friendly bet with Alabama's governor over Monday's college football national championship.

DeWine is placing some Bahama Mamas and chocolate "Buckeye" cream puffs from Columbus favorite Schmidt's Sausage Haus on the line in his bet.

Ivey countered with a "prize pack" of Conecuh Sausage from her home state.

Ivey engaged in a little gubernatorial trash talk, responding to DeWine's tweet that his offered bet of Schmidt's delicacies "sounds delicious ... good luck!"

The Ohio State and Alabama game is set for 8 p.m. in Hard Rock Stadium at Miami Gardens, Florida. The game will be televised by ESPN.

U.S. Rep. Joyce Beatty, D-Columbus, and Alabama U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell also made a wager to donate to local food banks and wear the competitor's colors, with the loser having to shout "Go Buckeyes!" or "Roll Tide!" on the Capitol steps.
