Central Ohio Lawmakers Join Forces in Hopes of Helping Homeless Vets
Three Central Ohio lawmakers have introduced a bill that they hope will increase legal services for homeless veterans and veterans at risk of homelessness.
Reps. Pat Tiberi, R-Genoa Township, Joyce Beatty, D-Jefferson Township and Steve Stivers, R-Upper Arlington, are cosponsoring a bill that will allow the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to partner with public and private entities to increase legal services for homeless and at-risk veterans.
The bill has the support of the American Bar Association and the Ohio Legal Assistance Foundation. It has been referred to the House Committee on Veterans Affairs and is awaiting further consideration.
