Beatty Weekly Wrap Up | June 7 - June 13
You’ll be interested to know that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) awarded a $2,737,592 grant last week to the Child Development Council of Franklin County to fund Head Start and Early Head Start programs in Ohio’s Third Congressional District. Funding was made available through the American Rescue Plan, P.L. 117-2, a piece of legislation Beatty helped pass in Congress.
Even more interesting, Central Ohio could see an additional $19+ million for important transportation projects. That’s because the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure released a list of approved Member Designated Projects and all of my requests were included. However, please note that a final transportation surface bill is still being drafted and must be passed by the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.
Going forward, please know that as Congress continues to craft legislation to help hardworking Americans, small businesses, and our economy build back better, I will strongly advocate for my constituents, our community, and the priorities and projects that make us strong.
