Congresswoman Beatty Observes National Nurses Week

Weeklong initiative recognizes the important role nurses play in our nation

May 6th to May 12th is National Nurses Week (NNW). In conjunction with 2017 being designated as the “Year of the Healthy Nurse,” this NNW’s theme is, “Nursing: the Balance of Mind, Body and Spirit.” To mark the occasion, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:

“This week, and every week, let us honor the more than three million dedicated nurses who selflessly provide quality care to our family, friends and countless other patients by promoting a safer work environment for nurses and patients alike, as well as ensuring that our nation’s nurses are equipped and prepared to be at their best at all times. In that spirit, I was proud to cosponsor the Nurse Staffing Standards for Patient Safety and Quality Care Act of 2015, H.R. 1602, and look forward to supporting it again when it is reintroduced. We must do more to support common-sense solutions to comfort both nurses and patients.”
