Beatty Statement on the Events at Charleston’s historic Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congresswoman Beatty (OH-03) released the following statement on the recent attack at Charleston's historic Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church:

"I was shocked to learn of last night's cowardly and unconscionable attack on worshipers at Charleston's historic Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church. Today, I joined members of the Congressional Black Caucus in prayer for the families, victims, and loved ones of the victims. I am standing with the community and Congressman James Clyburn from South Carolina in this most difficult time. With a heavy heart, I join other leaders for healing from this senseless crime."
