Congresswoman Beatty Celebrates Financial Literacy Month

Annual initiative highlights the importance of financial planning and education

Washington, D.C. – April 1st marks the beginning of Financial Literacy Month, also known as Financial Capability Month, the yearly observance to raise awareness on financial literacy and teach Americans how to establish and maintain healthy financial habits. As a member of the Financial and Economic Literacy Caucus, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) is calling on all Americans to join in the celebration.

“During Financial Literacy Month, we are reminded of the importance of financial planning and education for all people.” Beatty said. “From buying and saving for a home, to preparing for retirement, it is imperative all Americans have the skills and tools necessary to improve their financial know-how, build a brighter economic future and have the capability to achieve the American Dream.”

All month long, Congresswoman Beatty will be recognizing Financial Literacy Month; be sure to visit the Congresswoman’s Facebook and Twitter to see, hear and learn the latest. In that spirit, Congresswoman encourages residents of Ohio’s Third Congressional District to join in the conversation online by using #FLM2016.
