Beatty Statement Supporting National Men's Health Week

This week (June 12-18) is National Men's Health Week, an annual opportunity to encourage men and boys to make their health a priority and to raise awareness of preventable health issues. To mark the occasion, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:

"Too often, men avoid going to the doctor regularly, making half as many appointments as women. Moreover, simple lifestyle habits—like getting enough sleep and staying active—can make a remarkable difference in preventing illnesses like diabetes and cardiovascular disease. That is why I urge men of all ages to schedule regular checkups, seek treatment when they are sick or hurt, and maintain healthy habits this week and all-year round."
