Beatty Statement on LGBT Pride Month

June is Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Pride Month, a month-long celebration recognizing the LGBT community's ongoing struggle for equal rights and the important contributions of countless LGBT Americans. As an outspoken advocate for LGBT equality, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:

"Despite the tremendous progress we have made as a nation over the past few decades, there is more that must be done to guarantee equality for all Americans. Too often, LGBT Americans are victims of discrimination and harassment, and often face legal barriers that prevent them from enjoying full equality under the law and in our society. That is why I will continue fighting during LGBT Pride Month and all year-long to curb discrimination and to achieve justice and equality for all Americans."

During LGBT Pride Month, be sure to show your support and join the conversation online by using #LGBTPrideMonth, #LGBT and #equality.
