Beatty Statement on LGBT Pride Month

June is Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Pride Month, dedicated to celebrating the history of the LGBT community, recognizing the struggle for equal rights, and highlighting the important contributions of countless LGBT Americans. As an outspoken advocate for equality for all, U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement:

"Although we have made tremendous progress, there is more that must be done in the struggle for equality. Those who identify as LGBT are too often victims of discrimination and harassment. That is why I will continue to work to curb discrimination toward the goal of achieving full equality under the law for all Americans.”

All month long, Beatty will be sharing messages from voices in the LGBT movement, so please be sure to visit the Congresswoman's Facebook and Twitter. Also, show your support online this month by using the hashtags: #LGBTPrideMonth, #LGBT and #equality.
