Beatty Earns AAUW Action Fund Perfect Score

Women’s advocacy group recognizes Congresswoman Beatty’s work to improve the lives of millions of women

This week, the American Association of University Women (AAUW) honored U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) for her ongoing effort to empower young girls and women. Beatty was awarded a perfect score (100 percent) by the AAUW Action Fund for key votes related to education, economic security and civil rights.

Beatty’s latest recognition is a testament to her lifelong commitment to breaking down the barriers preventing the next generation of female leaders from reaching their full potential. Last year, in addition to supporting crucial pieces of legislation, Beatty introduced the 21st Century STEM for Girls and Underrepresented Minorities Act, H.R. 2773, a bill to help school districts better engage girls and underrepresented minorities in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). The bill is backed by 34 Members of Congress and is awaiting further consideration in the House Committee on Education and the Workforce

Since 1881, the AAUW has been a leading voice in education and equity for all females. The organization works in lockstep with Members of Congress to advance common sense solutions to address the inequities facing young girls and women across the nation.
